Reverend Larry Wilder

                                                           Reverend Larry Wilder was appointed Interim Pastor of the Historic Olive Branch Baptist Church in Wake Forest, NC in July 2019 and later appointed Pastor-Elect in February 2020 Pandemic of Essential Workers.  He was formerly an Associate Minister at Malaby's Crossroads Missionary Baptist Church in Knightdale, NC, serving under the pastorate of Rev. Dr. James S. Utley.  While at Malaby's Crossroads Missionary Baptist Church, he served, along with his wife, Reverend Barbara Wilder, as co-director of Vacation Bible School and Christian Education. He has also served as teacher for the combined Adult Sunday School class and Adult Bible study, Youth Advisor, and guitarist for the Youth Choir, the Male Chorus and the Women of Worship Choir.  

 

Reverend Larry and Reverend Barbara minister to others through the facilitation of workshops for couples and singles as well as through “Mom and Pop Ministry” presentations.  This ministry, founded by Reverend Larry and Reverend Barbara, presents humorous, Christian centered skits where the Wilders portray “Mom and Pop,” a senior citizen couple. 

 

Reverend Larry's heart for ministry lies in a deep commitment to serving others. He recognizes that serving God means being available, through the power of His Spirit, for whatever God wants him to do.  Reverend Larry is acutely aware of the favor that God has placed on his life and, in response, seeks to honor God with an attitude of gratitude and devotion.

 

Reverend Larry was born and raised in New York City but relocated to Youngsville, NC to live with his grandmother while in high school.  Upon completion of high school, Larry attended North Carolina Central University where he earned a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology.  He also holds a Master of Education degree from Regent University and is a retired special education teacher (2020) in the Wake County Public School System.

 

Reverend Larry and Reverend Barbara have been married for 41 years and now reside in Knightdale, NC.  They have 2 daughters and one son-in-law, Tiffany Wilder of Atlanta, GA and Tracy and Jason Albert - of Knightdale, NC.

 

Reverend Larry loves the Lord and his favorite scripture is Romans 8:28 -

"And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose."

Reverend Barbara Wilder

 

 

Reverend Barbara Wilder served as an Associate Minister at Malaby's Crossroads Missionary Baptist Church in Knightdale, NC under the pastorate of Rev. Dr. James S. Utley.  

While at Malaby’s Crossroads she served, along with her husband, Reverend Larry Wilder, as co-director of Vacation Bible School and Christian Education, Adult Sunday School and Adult Bible study teacher, Youth Ministry Leader and Youth Bible study teacher, Co-coordinator of the Couple’s Social Committee and Women’s ministry leader. She has also served as Assistant Superintendent and Superintendent of Sunday School.

Reverend Barbara is a graduate of North Carolina Central University and has been married to Reverend Larry Wilder for over 41 years. They reside in Knightdale, NC and have two daughters and one son-in-law - Tiffany Wilder of Atlanta, GA and Tracy and Jason Albert of Knightdale, NC. 

 

The greatest joys and accomplishments of her life have been raising her family and serving in ministry alongside her husband. Reverend Barbara's heart for ministry lies in a deep compassion to serve and minister to women, young people and married couples. She says that, "Serving God means humbling yourself and serving others and making yourself available to be filled with His Word and His Spirit and then pour out to bless others but most importantly, tell them about the good news of Jesus Christ unto salvation!"
